Institute Scholar, Heidi Gullett, MD, MPH, often speaks about the virus and the issues facing our nation. On June 5th, Dr. Gullett spoke about the other pandemic facing our nation: racism.
When asked about the conference, Dr. Gullett said, "The regular press briefings due to COVID-19 have also provided an opportunity to discuss our long-standing collaborative equity work to eliminate structural racism in greater Cleveland. This platform has provided a chance to explain the intersection of these two crises and their impact on our community. Immediately after George Floyd's death, I felt moved to speak from the heart about my own perspective transformation journey of confronting my own privilege."
